SpeakReady helps English learners practice conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation, and role play. This Privacy Policy explains how SpeakReady collects, uses, shares, and deletes information when you use the SpeakReady mobile app or website.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you use SpeakReady, we may create an app account for you. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we may receive information such as your account identifier, email address, display name, and profile information made available by that sign-in provider. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email address.

App Usage and Progress

We may store information needed to run the app, including your internal user ID, anonymous account status, gems, conversation history, feature usage information, selected English level, language preferences, and app settings.

User Content

SpeakReady may process text prompts, chat messages, role-play messages, vocabulary and dictionary text, pronunciation attempts, audio recordings, transcripts, language and level preferences, voice preferences, and other content that you provide or create while using the app.

Speech and Audio Data

When you use speech features, the app may request microphone and speech recognition access. Audio may be processed to create transcriptions, pronunciation feedback, generated speech, or conversation responses. Some audio or speech files may be cached locally on your device to support playback and practice features.

Word Reminders and Notifications

When you enable Word Reminders, SpeakReady may ask for notification permission so the app can schedule local reminders on your device. Reminder data may include saved words, reminder dates, reminder times, repeat settings, and selected weekdays. Word Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device; SpeakReady does not use a server or remote push notification token to deliver Word Reminders.

Technical Information

We may process technical information such as authentication credentials, request metadata, device and app version information, error information, and basic logs needed to secure, operate, and improve the service.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• create, authenticate, and maintain your account;
• save your gems, progress, conversation history, and feature usage information;
• provide chat, speech, pronunciation, vocabulary, and role-play features;
• schedule and manage local Word Reminder notifications when you enable reminders;
• process text and audio through cloud, language, transcription, speech processing, and third-party AI service providers;
• prevent abuse, fraud, duplicate free-gem misuse, and unauthorized access;
• respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests;
• maintain, troubleshoot, and improve SpeakReady.

Sign-In Providers

SpeakReady supports sign-in with Apple and Google. These providers may process your information under their own privacy policies. We use the information they provide only to create or sign in to your SpeakReady account, maintain your gems, and save your app progress.

Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to operate SpeakReady. These may include providers for authentication, database, hosting, server functions, sign-in, language processing, transcription, speech processing, and AI processing. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us. We require service providers to protect personal information with the same or equal protections described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable law.

Third-Party AI Service Provider

SpeakReady uses OpenAI as a third-party AI service provider. When you use AI features, SpeakReady may send data to OpenAI when needed to provide the feature.

Depending on the feature, your data and inputs sent to OpenAI may include text prompts, chat messages, role-play messages, vocabulary and dictionary text, pronunciation attempts, audio recordings, transcripts, selected language and English level, selected voice preferences, conversation identifiers, and feature settings and request details needed to provide the AI feature.

SpeakReady does not send account details such as your name, email address, location, or device details to OpenAI, unless you include them in the text or audio you submit.

OpenAI uses your data and inputs to generate AI chat replies, role-play content, vocabulary help, dictionary explanations, transcriptions, pronunciation support, and generated speech audio.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate SpeakReady, when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

Data Retention

We keep account, usage, and progress information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain some information for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, backup, or dispute resolution. Local cached files on your device may be removed by deleting the app or clearing app data where supported.

Your Choices and Rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by contacting us at speakready.app@gmail.com. You can remove word reminders in the app and can turn notification permission on or off in iOS Settings. You can also manage or remove third-party sign-in access through Apple or Google account settings.

Data Deletion

To request deletion of SpeakReady account data, use the account deletion option in Profile settings, follow the instructions on our Data Deletion page, or email speakready.app@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before deleting account data.

International Processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. We take reasonable steps to protect information according to this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide notice where required by law.
